POEM 13: LOOK FOR HIM

When life seems without a ray,
And you often cease to pray.
When the cross is too heavy
And you are faint and weary
Look for Him - He's by your side

When everything seems to fail
And the ship does not sail.
When the shore is out of sight ,
And the waves are hard to fight--
Look for Him midst the tide.

Through stretches of desert sands,
Blinded alleys and barren lands.
When the mountain is too high
And no help is nigh --
Look for Jesus, He is your guide.

When the path ahead is long,
And you've tired and forlorn.
When the course of tough to trace,
And all you need is God's grace --
Look for Him He is close beside.

When your life's in confusion,
Your plans - a mere illusion.
When all friends have forsaken,
And you have been mistaken.
Look for Him He does abide.

  1. my mother used to say that most of the human beings behave like pigs, unless they fall into the pit, they wont look up to the heavens for help . likewise humans pray mostly when face trials and tribulations !!!!!!

  2. When Life is full of fun
    And you don't need anyone
    To stand by you,
    Look for Him though few
Would, to Thank Him - your Guide

Yes Treesa - this is very true -- your mom is correct. However the argument/truth also is that trials and tribulations draw us closer to God -- though it highlights our selfish nature! My poem did have other verses which was removed by the publisher :)

  3. Yes true .once in a retreat a priest told you should love god more than your parents..i found it difficult to digest and asked my father how can I love God more since I cant see God, but my parents are visible to me always, who can help me,understand me..But there comes times in life which made me realise that sometimes we are all alone in our journey and i found the true happiness in God. 4. true anna :) finally only God is there for each one of us. That is exactly what the priest wanted to convey to you and which is also very true.
